I have just received a copy of the Report into the Impact of Folk Fetivals on Cultural Tourism, which was commissioned by the Association of Festival Organisers, in 2002, and funded Arts Council England. Apparently we spend £77m a year, not only on the Festivals themselves, but by providing a financial boost to the towns and villages that we go to. This is an essential tool for any Festival Organiser trying to get funding from local government. If you haven't got a copy, then contact the Association of Festival Organisers.

For my own benefit, I have a database of Festivals that have their own webpages, or e-mail addresses, on this page, so I can copy & paste a link into the Folk London diary.

This information is hidden, as it only lists festivals that advertise with us and is nowhere near as comprehensive as the guides available from the links above to EFDSS and FRoots. All I need to do is provide web and email links from the diary.

However, these links can change, from year to year, so any Festival organiser who wants to check that the web address that I've got is still correct, should go into Netscape or Explorer, find the drop-down menu from the task bar that lists "VIEW SOURCE" and click on that. You'll find my database, in raw HTML code, below.
